The class moodle site is at http://moodle.hku.hk/course/view.php?id=71974. It will be used for submission of assignments.

Course Email

There are many electronic platforms for communications. For this class, however, in lieu of emails, please register yourself in Piazza. You can post your general questions there, and everyone including your classmates may respond. For private questions, you can also post a “private note”. Some course announcements may also be posted there. Please use Piazza instead of sending course-related emails to the instructor or the TA; otherwise, your question may not be answered.

Late Policy

For any homework assignment handed in late, your mark for that particular item will be reduced by a penalty P, defined as P = x/4, where x is the number of days late, for x > 0 and x < 4. For example, if the homework is due on Jan 1 23:59, and you turn in homework before Jan 2 23:59, you will receive a mark equivalent to 3/4 of your graded homework. No late homework submission will be entertained after the official homework solution is posted.

Regrade Policy

Any query about assignment grades must be submitted within 1 week of the time when the result is posted. Queries must be submitted in writing and is accompanied by a cover letter explaining the reason for regrade. Your entire assignment will be regraded and may therefore lead to a grade lower than the original assigned one. No regrading is allowed for final exam as per University regulation.
